Announces Label Expansion for Toledo™
fungicide
Wheat and Barley Diseases Added

Miami, FL, U.S., October 10, 2008 – Toledo™ fungicide, manufactured and distributed by Rotam, has received Environmental Protection Agency approval for application to wheat and barley.  Toledo™ is now registered for suppression of Fusarium head blight or scab, and for control of rusts (Puccinia spp.) in these crops.  Toledo™ contains tebuconazole, a popular active among wheat and barley growers that is proven to reduce scab infections caused by the pathogen Fusarium graminearum.  Tebuconazole is the active used in Folicur®.

For many years, outbreaks of scab or Fusarium head blight have challenged cereal production by reducing yields and grain quality.  “Toledo tebuconazole provides growers with a high-performance management tool to help reduce the negative impact from scab outbreaks,” says Mike Adams, marketing manager for Rotam North America.  “Since Toledo is a world class tebuconazole formulation, growers can be assured of the performance standard they are accustomed to and realize a return on their investment.”

Since Toledo™ applications are limited to a single 4 oz. treatment per acre, per year growers should regard Toledo™ as part of a cereal disease management program.  For best results, apply Toledo™ by air or ground equipment in a preventative treatment at early flowering or Feekes Stage 10.51, at least 30 days prior to harvest.

Toledo™ is also registered for use in wheat and barley under a supplemental label in states where it is currently registered.*
